Baseball Game Preview: Radford Bobcats vs. Carroll County Cavaliers

Radford hasn't had much luck against Carroll County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bobcats will face off against the Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. Radford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Radford came up short against Floyd County and fell 7-3.

Radford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Joyce, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Joyce has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Carroll County waltzed into their game on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They never let the Maroon Tide get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.

Carroll County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Radford, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

Radford might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Carroll County when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
