Baseball Recap: Hollins Comes Up Short

Hollins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 6-3 to the Owensboro Red Devils. The Royals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Hollins saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alain Esquivel, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Hollins' record now sits at 6-12. As for Owensboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hollins will square off against Largo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Packers have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Owensboro, they will venture away from home to square off against Clearwater Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
