Softball Game Preview: Three Rivers Wildcats vs. Dowagiac Chieftains

For the second straight game, Three Rivers will face off against Dowagiac. The Wildcats will face off against the Chieftains at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Saturday, Three Rivers came up short against Dowagiac and fell 6-1.

For Dowagiac's part, Bree Campbell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Campbell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Marlie Carpenter was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Olivia McIntosh, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Dowagiac hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive games.

Three Rivers' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Dowagiac, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.
