Patrick County has gone a perfect 3-0 against James River recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougars will square off against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Patrick County came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 16-5 to Glenvar.

Patrick County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Holt, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Erik Martinez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Floyd County hit James River with a four-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buffaloes. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Buffaloes: they've now lost four in a row.

Patrick County's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for James River, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Patrick County skirted past James River 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
