Game recap: Lighthouse Christian High School Football Team beats Steelville

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Steelville (Mo.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 12 in Missouri, but was stunned by Lighthouse Christian (Springfield, Mo.), 42-6. Lighthouse Christian was ranked at No. 174 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Missouri coming into the week.

After taking the lead on a punt return touchdown by Brandon Staley in the first quarter, the Chargers/Eagles led 35-6 at the half.

Adam Davis stood out for Lighthouse Christian in the win. The sophomore quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.

The Cardinals' lone touchdown came on a defensive touchdown in the second quarter.



LC came in allowing an average of 18.5 points per game this season. The defense really stepped up, holding Steelville well below its season average of 13.3 points scored per game.

In a Mid-West Christian game next week Lighthouse Christian (5-2) takes on Sunrise Christian Academy, and Steelville (1-3) will go up against Cornerstone in a Missouri-Arkansas Independent (8 Man) game.
