Basketball Recap: Cloverleaf Has No Trouble Against Springfield

Cloverleaf won the last time they faced Springfield and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cloverleaf Colts put the hurt on the Springfield Spartans with a sharp 55-33 victory. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Evie Barth continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Saige Foky, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Cloverleaf smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Cloverleaf's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cloverleaf will venture away from home to face off against Coventry at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springfield, they will head out to challenge Streetsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
