Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Panthers vs. East Henderson Eagles

The Franklin Panthers will face off against the East Henderson Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

Franklin fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Pisgah on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 5-2 to the Bears.

Franklin got a good showing from Graham Cantrell, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Cantrell hasn't allowed a single hit since back in February.

At the plate, Franklin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Damion Bowles, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for East Henderson's offense. They lost 6-0 to North Henderson on Tuesday.

East Henderson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Franklin skirted past East Henderson 13-11 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
