Richland County is 8-2 against Marshall since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Lions at 6:00 p.m. Richland County is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Richland County lost to South Vermillion on the road by a 66-49 margin. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 15-7 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Marshall hadn't done well against Robinson recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Marshall came out on top against Robinson by a score of 56-48. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Maroons are ranked 571st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marshall has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Richland County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-12.

Everything went Richland County's way against Marshall in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Richland County made off with a 63-43 victory. Will Richland County repeat their success, or does Marshall have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
