Basketball Recap: Bennington Has No Trouble Against Classical

Bennington's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Classical Saints 60-37. With the Bulldogs ahead 35-15 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Brayden Palenske was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. What's more, he posted five blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Payge Rodenbeek, who scored five points in addition to eight assists and six boards.

Despite the loss, Classical saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tylan Sinclair had 11 points and three steals. Abe Black was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Bennington is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Bennington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-50 loss against Trinity on the 17th. As for Classical, they will head out on the road to challenge Berean Academy at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st.
