Volleyball Recap: Marlborough Panthers vs. Advanced Math & Science Academy Eagles
After flying high against Keefe Tech last Tuesday, Marlborough came back down to earth. The Marlborough Panthers fell just short of the Advanced Math & Science Academy Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2021.
Marlborough took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 12-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21, 15-5.
Vienna Belli paced Marlborough's offense, picking up 12 kills. Belli got some help from
Juliana Aristizabal and her 25 assists. Belli also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with
Ella Hobin, racking up four apiece.
Marlborough's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Advanced Math & Science Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season.
As of now, neither Marlborough nor Advanced Math & Science Academy have any future games scheduled.
