Volleyball Game Preview: Holly Wildcats vs. Crowley County Chargers

After both having extra time off, the Holly Wildcats and the Crowley County Chargers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Holly was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They skirted past Wiley 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since October 11, 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Holly who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 27-25, 16-25, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Crowley County can bid farewell to their five-match losing streak thanks to their match on Tuesday. They came out on top against Walsenburg by a score of 3-1.

Crowley County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-20, 25-12, 25-20.

Holly's record now sits at 5-8. As for Crowley County, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-7.

Holly came up short against Crowley County when the teams last played on September 4th, falling 3-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
