Baseball Recap: Timnath Find Success

Timnath lost to Severance last Monday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Cubs came out on top against the Silver Knights by a score of 19-16.

The team relied heavily on Caden Poynter, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-6. He is becoming a predictor of Timnath's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Brodyn Pafford, who went 2-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Timnath was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory got Timnath back to even at 6-6. As for Severance, they moved to 8-5 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Coming up, Timnath will welcome Berthoud at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cubs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Severance, they will venture away from home to face off against Roosevelt at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
