Baseball Game Preview: William Campbell Generals vs. Appomattox County Raiders

William Campbell hasn't had much luck against Appomattox County recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Generals will be playing at home against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Appomattox County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on William Campbell, who comes in off a win.

William Campbell is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over Chatham last Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Generals needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Meanwhile, Appomattox County entered their matchup against Buckingham on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Raiders fell 6-3 to the Knights.

Appomattox County's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for William Campbell, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

William Campbell couldn't quite get it done against Appomattox County when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can the Generals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
