Basketball Preview: Green Canyon Wolves vs. Mountain Crest Mustangs
Green Canyon is 8-2 against the Mustangs since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Green Canyon Wolves will head out on the road to square off against the Mountain Crest Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Green Canyon is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Green Canyon was beaten by the Riverhawks 69-22. Green Canyon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Janalynn Blotter, who scored nine points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Talyssa Nelson, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Mountain Crest scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 61-17 win over Logan on the road. That 44 point margin sets a new team best for Mountain Crest this season.
Green Canyon has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Mountain Crest, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Green Canyon came up short against the Mustangs when the teams last played back in January, falling 58-45. Can Green Canyon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
