Why it's big: No. 5 Allen puts its state-best 47-game winning streak on the line when it hosts fellow unbeaten Marcus Friday night at its palatial, 18,000-seat Eagle Stadium.

Marcus has lost five straight to Allen since this series started in 2004. However, its 35-24 loss last year was the closest any district rival came to defeating the Eagles.



After an early-season toss-up at the quarterback position, Allen (4-0) now seems settled on four-star senior Seth Green as its starter. The Oregon commit ran for 126 yards and accounted for two touchdowns in a 65-0 drubbing of Plano last week.

Names to watch: Senior tight end Kaden Smith had an 11-yard touchdown reception in Marcus' 24-7 win over Hebron (Lewisville) last week. Smith is a four-star prospect committed to Stanford.

Gregory Little, the top-ranked player in Texas and the nation's second-rated player overall, anchors Allen's offensive line. The five-star offensive tackle is a rare three-year starter in Texas Class 6A football.
