Basketball Game Preview: Farragut Admirals vs. Maryville Red Rebels

Farragut and Maryville are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Farragut Admirals will face off against the Maryville Red Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Farragut is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.1 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Farragut came up short against West and fell 78-69. The Admirals haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Farragut's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dominic Vanacker, who went 11 of 17 en route to 27 points, and Parker Lane, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 21 points. Vanacker's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Howard, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Maryville faced Bearden in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Maryville took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bearden.

Maryville's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Farragut, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Farragut came up short against Maryville when the teams last played last Friday, falling 60-51. Can Farragut avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
