Volleyball Recap: Southeastern Local Comes Up Short

Southeastern Local came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Madison Plains Golden Eagles. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Golden Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-5, 25-12.

Madison Plains can attribute much of their success to Alyssia Mullins, who had eight digs and two assists.

Southeastern Local's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Madison Plains, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeastern Local will challenge Cedarville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison Plains, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Shawnee at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
