Football Game Preview: Boonville Pirates vs. Eldon Mustangs

The Boonville Pirates will venture away from home to take on the Eldon Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boonville will be strutting in after a win while Eldon will be coming in after a defeat.

If Boonville beats Eldon with 27 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Pirates walked away with a 27-20 victory over Osage last Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Alex McDonald continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 195 yards and three scores. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 175 rushing yards. Landon Conz did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 92 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Eldon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 36-28 to California.

Eldon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Boonville, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Boonville took their victory against Eldon in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 46-21 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
