Baseball Game Preview: Scarsdale Raiders vs. Mamaroneck Tigers

The Scarsdale Raiders will venture away from home to take on the Mamaroneck Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Scarsdale's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Mamaroneck's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Scarsdale will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Arlington, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Raiders skirted past the Admirals 2-1.

Meanwhile, despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mamaroneck couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Storm by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday.

Scarsdale is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mamaroneck, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.

Scarsdale skirted past Mamaroneck 3-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
