Basketball Recap: Marysville Getchell Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

On Saturday, Marysville Getchell were able to grind out a solid victory over the Seattle Academy Cardinals, taking the game 56-43. Given Marysville Getchell's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Seattle Academy is ranked 246th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arion Palacol was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 13 on his way to 21 points and five steals. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Wyatt Harris was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards.

Marysville Getchell's record is now 6-4. As for Seattle Academy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Marysville Getchell will welcome Stanwood at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Marysville Getchell is facing Stanwood at the right time seeing as Stanwood is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Seattle Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-46 defeat against Lincoln on the 30th.
