Softball Recap: Paradise Valley Christian Prep Has No Trouble Against Gila Bend

Paradise Valley Christian Prep won the last time they faced Gila Bend and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Gila Monsters. Considering the Panthers have won nine matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Noemi Piraino made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Piraino was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Evie Williams was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Caia Ingram, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Paradise Valley Christian Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gila Bend only posted an OBP of .312.

The win made it two in a row for Paradise Valley Christian Prep and bumps their season record up to 11-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 24.0 runs over those games. As for Gila Bend, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
