Florida State University High School's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past FAMU DRS 15-0.
Preslee Donaldson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Donaldson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
In other batting news, Ansley Hurst was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season. Ramsey Boyett was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Florida State University High School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .314 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Taylor Winfield was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Winfield was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jailyn Nickeo, who scored four runs and stole Six bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Cynthia Conte, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Florida State University High School's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Leon, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Florida State University High School hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .444.
