Softball Game Preview: Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles vs. Calvary Chapel Eagles

Capistrano Valley Christian will take on Calvary Chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Chapel took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Capistrano Valley Christian, who comes in off a win.

While Capistrano Valley Christian's victory against Calvary Chapel wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Grizzlies a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won seven in a row.

The team relied heavily on M Meserve, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel came up short against Valencia on Wednesday, falling 21-7. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bella Bos was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Arianna Gonzalez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

However, it's not like Calvary Chapel struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
