Softball Recap: Muir Gets the Win

On Saturday, it was close, but the Muir Mustangs sidestepped the Duarte Falcons for a 7-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Gianna (GiGi) Butler was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Butler was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Abigail (Abi) Milton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Thembi Swain, who scored a run and stole three bases.

Muir's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Duarte, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Muir will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain View at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Duarte, they will venture away from home to take on Glendora at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
