Basketball Recap: Roselle Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Roselle had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell to the American History Eagles 48-43. The Rams' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row dating back to last season.

Roselle's loss on Thursday came despite strong showings from Jodarsen Pierre and Na'Ki Jefferson. Pierre posted 16 points, while Jefferson had 14 points.

American History's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ihjamir Williams led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds. That's the most boards Williams has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Ah'Mad Woodard, who earned 15 points and eight steals.

The win made it two in a row for American History and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Roselle will take on Brearley in a holiday battle at at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. American History and Barringer will compete for holiday cheer at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
