Baseball Recap: Biloxi Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Biloxi can now relate to. They fell 9-6 to the Oak Grove Warriors on Saturday. The Indians have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Tristain Haynes was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for Biloxi: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jackson Irvin, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Biloxi's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Oak Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

While Biloxi had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
