After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northpoint Christian, St. George was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the St. Benedict at Auburndale Eagles. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Gryphons as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
St. George's was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-12, 17-25, 25-19.
St. George's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
St. George's wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Oakland on the 19th. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, they will host First Assembly Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
