League recap: Oxnard's league-best three wins lead to standings climb

Oxnard outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its three total wins led the league. The Yellowjackets beat Nordhoff 12-1, Channel Islands 5-3 and Hueneme 7-1.

Pacific View's top pitcher this week was Oxnard's Antonio Gaxiola. Over the past week, he racked up one win and eight strikeouts.

Pacifica's pitchers have displayed incredible control over the past week and all season, giving up just one walk over the past seven days and 11 on the year, both No. 1 in the league.

Five batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Adam Maciel, who hit .625 this week (5-for-8).

Gaxiola drove in five runs for the Yellowjackets over the past seven days. He has 19 RBIs this season, tops in the league.



Oxnard's Gaxiola struck out eight the Raiders hitters en route to a 5-3 victory on March 15. Over five innings of work, he gave up six hits and three runs.

Gaxiola was an RBI machine on Tuesday, as he knocked in five runs during the Yellowjackets' 6-5 win over Channel Islands. He went 2-for-3 and scored one run.
