Softball Recap: Lakeview Honkers vs. La Pine Hawks

Lakeview lost against La Pine back in March of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lakeview Honkers fell 9-6 to the La Pine Hawks. Lakeview has not had much luck with La Pine recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

For La Pine's part, Lindsey Moulder made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Moulder has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Moulder was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, La Pine let Jade Seymour and Cortanie Hendry loose on the outfield. Seymour scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Hendry scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Layla White was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Lakeview's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for La Pine, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeview is on the road again on Monday to play Sutherlin at 2:00 p.m. As for La Pine, they will take on Burns at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burns is coming into the contest with six straight victories at home, so La Pine will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
