The Ash Fork/Seligman Spartans will head out to take on the El Capitan Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ash Fork/Seligman has given up an average of 11.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Ash Fork/Seligman after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 18-7 to Northland Prep Academy.

Eva Flores made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Grijalva, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, El Capitan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Cardinals. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Vasey Yellowhorse spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emmie Tait, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Jonessa Keate was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
El Capitan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They are undefeated (6-0) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
El Capitan's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Ash Fork/Seligman, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ash Fork/Seligman has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like El Capitan struggles in that department as they've averaged .512. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
