Baseball Recap: Naples Comes Up Short

Naples managed to slip by Barron Collier the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Naples Golden Eagles lost 15-2 to the Barron Collier Cougars on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Golden Eagles have suffered against the Cougars since April 29, 2021.

Naples saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was KEVIN ORTEGA, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Naples and nudges their season record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-2 Gulf Coast (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 76.4% over those games). As for Barron Collier, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Naples has already played their next match, a 10-4 loss against Aubrey Rogers on the 6th. As for Barron Collier, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Gulf Coast on the 6th.
