Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dawson County). They put the hurt on the Custer County Cowboys with a sharp 15-3 victory on Thursday. The Red Devils not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 4th (when they won 14-1).
The team relied heavily on Kyra Wahl, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Venice Torres was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dawson County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Dawson County's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Custer County, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
