It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Meridian had no problem doing just that on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the LeRoy Panthers a 1-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Not much got past Ashley Schelling, who gave up just four hits to keep LeRoy off the board.

At the plate, Meridian's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Knierim, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meridian's victory bumped their record up to 26-8. As for LeRoy, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 37-2 record.

As of now, neither Meridian nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
