Soccer Game Preview: Covenant Christian vs. Cathedral

Covenant Christian is 0-5 against Cathedral since September of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Warriors will challenge the Fighting Irish at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Cathedral will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Covenant Christian extended their winning streak to five on Saturday. The Warriors never let Indianapolis Arsenal Technical get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Covenant Christian's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

They hit Indianapolis Arsenal Technical with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Heidi Rohrback (2), Caroline Brown, and Grace Huckaba.

Meanwhile, Cathedral got the win against Herron on Saturday by a conclusive 7-0. Given Cathedral's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Herron are ranked 173rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Covenant Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Cathedral, their win bumped their record up to 11-2-2.

Covenant Christian might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Cathedral when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
