Baseball Recap: Mclane Wins Going Away Against Torres

McLane was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Torres on Tuesday. The Highlanders were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Toros. This was a revenge game for the Highlanders: when they faced off against the Toros back in March, they had to take a 8-1 loss.

Isaac Montes made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Max Corona was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Leland Flores was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

McLane kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

McLane's win bumped their record up to 13-14. As for Torres, they dropped their record down to 8-17 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

McLane will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Toros: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
