Basketball Recap: Prairie City-Monroe Takes a Loss

Prairie City-Monroe lost against Knoxville back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs lost to the Knoxville Panthers at home by a 66-48 margin. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Panthers are ranked 29th).

Prairie City-Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Knoxville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 22-0.

Looking ahead, Prairie City-Monroe will be playing at home against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Knoxville, they will head out on the road to square off against Bondurant-Farrar at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Knoxville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Bondurant-Farrar likes a good challenge.
