It's unusual for a team with six losses to be ranked in the Top 25, but Hebron handily knocked off last week's No. 1 Oak Ridge in the Texas 6A state semi-finals en route to defending its title. The Hawks finished the season with 18 wins in their lat 19 matches to conclude 46-6.

As a result, the Hawks are ranked No. 17, and with their win over Oak Ridge, Mother McAuley (Chicago, Ill.) moves to No. 1 in this week's MaxPreps Xcellent 25 Volleyball Rankings presented by the U.S. Army National Guard.

Mother McAuley, winner of 32 straight to end the season, holds the slightest of margins over No. 2 Novi, winners of 42 in a row.
