Basketball Recap: Severn School Comes Up Short

Severn School and Mount de Sales Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Severn School had to settle for second. They fell to the Mount de Sales Academy Sailors 53-48. The Admirals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sailors earlier this season, when they won 48-45.

Leading Mount de Sales Academy to victory were Katie Carroll and Shelby Lewis. Carroll dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards, while Lewis dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lewis has scored at least a third of Mount de Sales Academy's points. Mackenzie Conley was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Severn School's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Severn School nor Mount de Sales Academy have any future games scheduled.
