Basketball Game Preview: Unity Christian Lions vs. Notre Dame Academy Irish Wolfhounds

The Unity Christian Lions will challenge the Notre Dame Academy Irish Wolfhounds at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Unity Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They breezed past Heritage Christian Academy to the tune of 54-26. 54 seems to be a good number for the Lions as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame Academy waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Lions as they made off with a 50-28 victory.

Notre Dame Academy found their leader in sophomore Jazlynn Brown, who dropped a triple-double with 30 points, 16 boards, and ten steals. Brown's evening made it 15 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Cara Amadi, who went 6-for-15 en route to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Notre Dame Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Unity Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.1 points over those games. As for Notre Dame Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
