Volleyball Recap: Downey Takes a Loss

After flying high against Artesia on Monday, Downey came back down to earth. The Vikings fell 3-1 to the St. Anthony Saints on Thursday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-7, 3-25, 25-8.

Downey has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for St. Anthony, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Downey will venture away from home to face off against Laguna Beach at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Anthony, they will welcome Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
