Basketball Recap: Glenpool Falls Short of Bethany in the Playoffs

Glenpool and Bethany squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Glenpool had to settle for second. They took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bethany Bronchos.

Glenpool's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yaya Gibson, who posted 13 points and four steals. Gibson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Tyra Mckinnie was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Glenpool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. This was only their second loss (out of 13 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Glenpool's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Bethany, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-5.

As of now, neither Glenpool nor Bethany have any future games scheduled.
