Basketball Recap: Vincent Allen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Unity Christian Academy over Lincoln Park

Unity Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 77-64 to the Lincoln Park Lions. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (55), the Phoenix still had to take the loss.

Unity Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Vincent Allen, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 16 rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 46.2% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi O'Neal, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 20 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks.

Unity Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lincoln Park, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Unity Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-62 defeat against Marian Catholic on the 2nd. As for Lincoln Park, they will face off against Amundsen at 4:55 p.m. on Thursday.
