Softball Recap: Trinity Comes Up Short

After flying high against Peters Township on Wednesday, Trinity came back down to earth. The Hillers fell just short of the Connellsville Falcons by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The Hillers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Trinity now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Connellsville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Coming up, Trinity is taking a road trip to square off against Bethel Park at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Black Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.22 runs per game on average), something the Hillers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Connellsville, they will welcome Thomas Jefferson at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
