Softball Game Preview: Rapides Mustangs vs. Plainview Hornets

The Rapides Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Plainview Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Rapides lost 23-7 to Northwood on Thursday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Plainview was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Bunkie, falling 16-1. That's two games in a row now that the Hornets have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Plainview's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rapides, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Rapides came up short against Plainview when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 10-7. Can Rapides avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
