Football Recap: Blue Ridge Tigers vs. Farmersville Farmers
Blue Ridge unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Farmersville Farmers by a score of 30-27 on Friday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Farmers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
Blue Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Walker, who rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Caleb Gaddis also helped out with an impressive 113 receiving yards.
Looking ahead, Blue Ridge is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Commerce at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Farmersville, they will welcome North Lamar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
