Soccer Game Preview: Ysleta vs. Bowie

The Ysleta Indians will face off against the Bowie Bears at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Ysleta will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Friday, then bounced right back against Fabens on Tuesday. The Indians blew past the Wildcats 4-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Ysleta's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

They hit Fabens with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Edwin Martinez (2), Adrian Escalante, and Kevin Portillo.

Meanwhile, Bowie made easy work of Irvin on Tuesday and carried off a 6-1 victory. Bowie might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by three goals or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Bowie and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those two matchups. As for Ysleta, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Ysleta beat Bowie 2-0 when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
