Basketball Recap: Lowndes' Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

After losing to Camden County the last time they met, Lowndes decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lowndes Vikings enjoyed a cozy 58-43 victory over the Camden County Wildcats on Friday. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kam Jackson was his usual excellent self, going 5 of 9 en route to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Ferguson, who posted eight points.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayden Ayala, who earned seven points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Ayala a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Demarcus Revels, who put up six points and five boards.

Lowndes' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-7. As for Camden County, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

Lowndes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-45 loss against Valdosta on the 25th. Camden County has also already played their next game, a 62-52 defeat against First Coast on the 25th.
