Football Recap: Ravenna Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Ravenna put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Pleasanton Bulldogs 36-20. For the Bluejays, this counts as revenge for the 50-22 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Ravenna got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trenton Wedemeyer out in front who threw for 140 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 35 yards. Jack Kucera was in the mix as well, providing the Bluejays with two scores.

Ravenna's run defense was locked in: Pleasanton could only muster 2.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Bryce Rasmussen for the heroic effort on defense: he. Ravenna's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.9.

Ravenna's defense didn't let Brennan Lindner., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Rasmussen was the leader with two sacks. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 13 games he's played dating back to last season.

Pleasanton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lindner, who threw for 181 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 61 yards and one touchdown. Grady Riley was another key player, picking up 87 receiving yards and one score.

Ravenna's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Pleasanton, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Ravenna will challenge Sandhills Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bluejays will be up against the Mavericks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Pleasanton, they are taking a road trip to face off against Arcadia/Loup City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
