Football Recap: Barker/Royalton-Hartland Beats York/Pavilion for Their Fourth Straight Win

Barker/Royalton-Hartland had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 30-23 victory over York/Pavilion.

Barker/Royalton-Hartland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vincenzo Fazzio, who picked up 79 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 35 yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Tysen McCaa, who threw for 153 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Barker/Royalton-Hartland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 203 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Barker/Royalton-Hartland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carter DeSarkissian and Fazzio. Fazzio got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Despite the loss, York/Pavilion still got an impressive performance from Parker Bonefede, who rushed for 36 yards and two scores, and also threw for 164 yards and one touchdown. Bonefede has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Barker/Royalton-Hartland's record is now 4-1. As for York/Pavilion, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barker/Royalton-Hartland will challenge Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for York/Pavilion, they will take on Oakfield-Alabama/Elba at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
