Basketball Recap: Twin Loup's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

It was a good run, but Twin Loup unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to the Central Valley Cougars 52-48. The Wolves were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Twin Loup still got an impressive performance from Yahya Harris, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. Harris is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Luqman Harris, who posted nine points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Twin Loup smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zevan Wolf, who put up ten points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cordel Wagner, who had six points.

Twin Loup's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Central Valley, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Twin Loup didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-0 victory against Burwell on the 21st. As for Central Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-42 defeat against Riverside on the 21st.
